Remote Controls
All interaction with Arrivals Board on Apple TV happens through the Siri Remote.
Button mapping¶
| Button / Gesture | Action |
|---|---|
| Play/Pause | Toggle settings panel --- opens settings if closed, closes if open |
| Swipe left on touch surface | Next message --- advances to the next message |
| Swipe right on touch surface | Previous message --- goes back to the previous message |
| Press Select (center click / tap) | Open settings --- opens Settings from anywhere on the board |
| Menu / Back | Close overlay --- dismisses the settings panel or any overlay |
Older Siri Remotes
If you are using an older Siri Remote without a touch surface, use the directional ring (D-pad) instead of swipe gestures. Press left or right on the ring to navigate between messages.

Settings button visibility¶
Choose how the on-screen gear behaves in Settings > Screen & UI > Settings Button: Auto-hide (hidden until you press a button, then it fades in), Always (stays visible, dimming to a grey silhouette while idle), or Never (no gear at all). Play/Pause always opens Settings, whatever you choose.
Game controllers¶
Arrivals also recognizes MFi game controllers connected to your Apple TV. The controller's menu button opens settings, and the D-pad navigates between messages.
