Remote Controls
All interaction with Arrivals Board on Apple TV happens through the Siri Remote.
Button mapping¶
| Button / Gesture | Action |
|---|---|
| Play/Pause | Toggle settings panel --- opens settings if closed, closes if open |
| Swipe left on touch surface | Next message --- advances to the next message |
| Swipe right on touch surface | Previous message --- goes back to the previous message |
| Press Select (center click / tap) | Open settings --- alternative way to open the settings panel |
| Menu / Back | Close overlay --- dismisses the settings panel or any overlay |
Older Siri Remotes
If you are using an older Siri Remote without a touch surface, use the directional ring (D-pad) instead of swipe gestures. Press left or right on the ring to navigate between messages.

Settings button visibility¶
You can hide the on-screen settings gear icon in Settings > Screen > Show Settings Button for a cleaner display. You can always open settings with the remote, even when the icon is hidden.
Game controllers¶
Arrivals also recognizes MFi game controllers connected to your Apple TV. The controller's menu button opens settings, and the D-pad navigates between messages.
